Welcome to WACtheatre!

Aberdeen-based WACtheatre are an organisation set up specifically to produce new work and to create opportunities for writers and actors in North East Scotland, particularly around Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. WAC hold weekly meetings (WAC Wednesdays) to bring together playwrights and actors based in Aberdeen and the Shire to read plays and discuss how they can be developed.

WAC are on the lookout for new plays - so if you've got an idea, a dog-eared script or just want some help getting to grips with script writing, drop us a line. Guidelines/script layouts are available for submitting unsolicited scripts. Download them from the link below or contact us for details. NB: please DO NOT send unsolicited scripts to WACtheatre without reading our Guidelines.

Actors...

As well as hunting down new writers, we are always looking for actors, directors, stage crew and other theatre people to become involved with the Productions and other WAC initiatives. Our plays are cast and produced using local talent, so if you are a budding thespian this is your chance to get noticed. Whether you have spent years treading the boards or are just beginning to explore the stage we would like to hear from you. Even if you have no experience, but are interested in a certain aspect of theatre we could offer you experience, for example as an assistant director. Simply drop us a line.
